No se trataba de una oportunidad aislada, sino de un intento de continuar trabajando en equipo para seguir abriendo puertas a mujeres artistas, curadoras y gestoras culturales.

Abstract: Área: Lugar de Proyectos presents three exhibitions, corresponding to the works of the artists Verónica Rivera, Tania Monclova y Mónica Felix, and curated by Anna Astor Blanco. This was not an isolated opportunity, but an attempt to continue working as a team to keep openning doors to female artists, curators and cultural managers.

Resumen: Breaking the Ice es el proyecto creado por el artista puertorriqueño Radamés “Juni” Figueroa, para la Bienal del Museo de Whitney en 2014. El curador Stuart Comer le ofreció al artista la terraza del edificio para que la “tropicalizara”, un proceso y un resultado que es analizado en este texto.

Abstract: Breaking the Ice is a project created by the Puerto Rican artist Radamés “Juni” Figueroa, for the Whitney Museum Biennal, in 2014. Curator Stuart Comer offered the artist the building’s terrace so he could “tropicalize” it, a process and a result that is analyzed in this article.

Resumen: Paisaje de verano o a través del espejo, es el título de la exhibición de Doris Rios, que se presentó en el Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico con la curaduría de Juan Carlos López. El germen de esta muestra se remonta al verano de 2011, durante el cual la maestra ceramista decide coleccionar palabras extraídas de titulares de noticias y anuncios publicitarios aparecidas en el periódico.

Abstract: Paisaje de verano o a través del espejo [Summer Landscape or Through the Mirror] was the title of Doris Rios exhibition, presented at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, curated by Juan Carlos López. The germ of this selection dates back to the summer of 2011, during which the master ceramist decided to collect words extracted from headlines and public ads that were featured in the newspaper.

En ella, el artista invita al espectador a realizar un ejercicio de instrospección, a la vez que emplea reiteradamente la iconografía de la cruz en sus obras.

Resumen: La exhibición Campeche Gran Formato ocupó las salas del Museo de San Juan en 2014. En ella, fue posible apreciar algunos de los grandes lienzos del maestro José Campeche (1751-1809), la mayoría de iconografía cristiana y procedentes de la Iglesia de San Francisco, también en San Juan.

Abstract: The exhibition Campeche Gran Formato [Campeche Large Format] filled the rooms of the Museum of San Juan in 2014. In it, it was possible to appreciate some of the great canvases of the master José Campeche (1751-1809), most of them of Christian iconography and from the San Francisco Church, also in San Juan.

Una de ellas es Renuncia y adopciones, curada por Abdiel Segarra, mientras que las otras dos son dos proyectos retrospectivos de la obra de José Luis Vargas y Rabindranat Díaz.

Resumen: Un Taller Vivo en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico da pie a este análisis sobre la trayectoria de PISO Proyecto desde su nacimiento en 2012. Su fundadora, la artista Noemí Segarra, lo concibió como un espacio movible en el que se trabaja en la improvisación y las prácticas artísticas del cuerpo.

Abstract: A Living Workshop at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico gives rise to this analysis of the trajectory of PISO Project from their birth in 2012. Their founder, the artist Noemí Segarra, concieved it as a mobile space in which one works on improvisation and the artistic practices of the body.

Resumen: Fashion Art es un proyecto que comenzó en 2012, con una propuesta del diseñador de moda español Manuel Fernández López, el cual aúna moda y diferentes manifestaciones de la creación plástica. En 2014, el evento se presentó en el Museo de Las Américas y convocó a una decena de reconocidos artistas puertorriqueños.

Abstract: Fashion Art is a project that started in 2012, with a proposal by the Spanish fashion designer Manuel Fernández López, who gathers fashion and different manifestations of plastic creation. In 2014, the event was presented in the Museum of the Americas and brought together a dozen of renowed Puerto Rican artists.

Resumen: En marzo de 2014, en el marco de las llamadas Noches de Galerías de Ponce, se inauguraron diferentes exhibiciones, de las que aquí se destacan dos: una con los trabajos Miguel Conesa, en la Sala de Arte Contemporáneo de la Casa Zapater, y otra de Myriam Beauchamp, en la Galería Epifanio Irizarry de la Escuela de Bellas Artes.

Abstract: In March 2014, in the framework of the so-called Ponce Gallery Nights, different exhibitions were inaugurated, of which two stand out here: one with the works of Miguel Conesa, at the. Hall of Contemporary Art in Casa Zapater, and the other by Myriam Beauchamp, at the Gallerry Epifanio Irizarry in the School of Fine Arts.
