Resumen: El Taller Vivo Unicornio en la isla: cien años de Lorenzo Homar, fue presentado por Frances Gallardo y Alexis Díaz, bajo la curaduría de Marianne Ramírez Aponte, en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico. En respuesta al reconocido grabado de Homar, ambos artistas le honran en su centenario a través del diseño, la gráfica, el dibujo y el grabado.
Abstract: The Living Workshop Unicornio en la isla: cien años de Lorenzo Homar [Unicorn in the Island: One Hundred Years of Lorenzo Homar], was presented by Frances Gallardo and Alexis Díaz, under the curatorship of Marianne Ramírez Aponte, in the Contemporary Art Museum of Puerto Rico. In response to Homar’s renowed print, both artist honor his centenary throughout designs, graphics, drawings and prints.
Resumen: El 16 de marzo de 2014 tuvo lugar el Primer Festival de La Perla, por iniciativa del artista puertorriqueño Chemi Rosado Seijo, el cual contó con una actividad lúdica con las chiringas como protagonistas. Este barrio ha sido un espacio en el que ha trabajado en numerosas ocasiones la comunidad artística de la Isla, entre otros, Edgardo Larregui, Bik Ismo, Nepo o Nick Quijano.
Abstract: On March 16, 2014, the First Festival of La Perla was held, by the iniciative of the Puerto Rican artist Chemi Rosado Seijo, which featured playiful activities with kites as the protagonists. This neighborhood has been a space in which the Island’s art community has worked on numerous occasions, among others, Edgardo Larregui, Bik Ismo, Nepo or Nick Quijano.

Resumen: En 2016, Jaime Suárez inauguró un conjunto de tres murales situados en el Paseo Puerta de Tierra, en la isleta de San Juan, realizado junto a tres de sus estudiantes de arquitectura de la Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico. Titulado Muros sobre muros, en él ha continuado explorando las múltiples posibilidades expresivas del concreto a través de la estampación de numerosos fragmentos de madera contrachapada sobre la pared, los cuales reproducen una serie de formas inspiradas en la arquitectura militar de la antigua ciudad amurallada. Junto a ello, ha incorporado otros diseños con claras reminiscencias prehispánicas, otorgando a la obra distintas lecturas estratigráficas vinculadas al lugar donde se ubica.
Abstract: In 2016, three murals made by Jaime Suárez in Paseo Puerta de Tierra, at the islet of San Juan, were inaugurated. They were made with three of his architecture students from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. With the title Muros sobre muros [Walls over Walls], he has continued exploring the multiple expressive possibilities of concrete, printing numerous fragments of plywood on the wall, that reproduce a series of forms inspired by the military architecture of the old walled city. Besides, he has incorporated other designs with evident pre-Hispanic reminiscences, opening new stratigraphic readings, all linked to this location, around this work.
Resumen: En celebración de los 60 años que el Ballets de San Juan cumpliría en 2014, el artista Jaime Suárez convocó a sus colegas ceramistas a crear una flota de arcilla en la Fuente del Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce. Ante la respuesta de un grupo nutrido de artistas, los eventos de la instalación de los barquillos el 15 de diciembre de 2013 constituyen una narrativa amena que resalta el compañerismo y la unión de esfuerzos por un bien común que, como efecto colateral, ha insuflado un aliento renovador al medio de la cerámica en Puerto Rico.
Abstract: In celebration of the 60th anniversary of Ballets de San Juan in 2014, the artist Jaime Suárez summoned his fellow ceramists to create a fleet of clay in the Fountain of the Centro de Bellas Artes in Santurce. Given the response of a large group of artists, the events of the installation of the wafers on December 15, 2013, constitute a pleasant narrative that highlights the companionship and the union of efforts for a common good that, as a collateral effect, has insufflated a breath of renewal into the ceramic medium in Puerto Rico.
Resumen: La producción artística de Dhara Rivera se ha caracterizado por un constante estudio de las complejas relaciones entre el ser humano y su ambiente. En 2009, Rivera comenzó una colaboración con el colectivo Araña de agua, junto a quienes ha realizado un serie de intervenciones en la naturaleza que se presentan como precedentes del Proyecto Río y Respiro, el cual reflexiona sobre el estado actual de los cuerpos de agua en Puerto Rico. Este proyecto colaborativo se realizó a orillas del Río Grande de Loíza en 2012, y se filmó para presentar el video al año siguiente en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico.
Abstract: Dhara Rivera’s artwork has been characterized by a constant study of the complex relationships between human beings and their environment. In 2009 Rivera began a collaboration with the collective Araña de agua, together with whom she has carried out a series of interventions in nature that are presented as the prelude to the Proyecto Río y Respiro, which focuses on a reflection on the current state of bodies of water in Puerto Rico. This collaborative project, which was joined by other agents, was carried out on the banks of the Rio Grande de Loiza in 2012, and was filmed to present the video the following year at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico.

Rubén Malavé, su fundador, ha llenado sus paredes cada dos semanas, durante cuatro décadas, para inaugurar alrededor de 1,920 exposiciones. S. Abstract: Guatíbiri opened its doors forty years ago, as a gallery and a framing workshop, at the center of Río Piedras. Rubén Malavé, its founder, has filled the gallery’s walls every two weeks, for four decades, inagurating around 1,920 exhibitions. S. Su directora, Noemí Segarra, busca siempre la colaboración del vecindario y la integración de elementos fundamentales como arte, espacio urbano y ser humano.

Se trata de un proyecto inaugurado por Sarah Higgins, que se inicia con el propósito de dar visibilidad a las propuestas estudiantiles en su enlace con la comunidad.
Abstract: In The Bulletin Board, students at the Bard College Center for Curatorial Studies are curators of projects that periodically open a window to artists from both the local and international scene. This curatorial project was founded by Sarah Higgins, and began with the purpose of giving visibility to student proposals and their link with the community.
