Resumen: A lo largo de más de 50 años, el Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez de la Universidad de Puerto Rico ha sido protagonista de una importante aportación a la Historia del Arte de Puerto rico, a través de la Galería de Arte del Departamento de Humanidades y de su Museo de Arte (MUSA), sus colecciones permanentes y su programación.

Abstract: For more than 50 years, the Mayagüez Campus of the University of Puerto Rico has been the protagonist of an important contribution to the History of Puerto Rican Art, thanks to the Art Gallery of the Humanities Department and the Museum of Art (MUSA), its permanent collections and public programs.

Puerto Rico en ARCO: trayectoria, proyección y trascendencia

Resumen: La relevancia que la Feria de Arte Contemporáneo de Madrid, ARCO, ha tenido en las relaciones artísticas entre Europa y América Latina es indiscutible. En este marco, numerosos artistas y proyectos puertorriqueños han sido partícipes de ese intercambio, abarcando diversas problemáticas y conceptos, y presentando la calidad del arte producido en la isla, que dialoga y está inmerso en el panorama del arte contemporáneo internacional.

Abstract: The relevance of ARCO, the Contemporary Art Fair of Madrid, in the artistic relations between Europe and Latin America is undeniable. In this context, many Puerto Rican artists and projects have taken part in this exchange, raising different issues and concepts, as well as exhibiting the quality of the art made on the island, which dialogues and is immersed in the international contemporary art discourse.

Musa del oeste

Resumen: Después de un largo tiempo de planificación, proyecciones y sueños, abrió sus puertas MuSA, el Museo de Arte de la Universidad de Puerto Rico – Recinto de Mayagüez. Su exhibición inaugural propone un amplio recorrido por las principales obras de los artistas que han creado, como docentes, en el mismo recinto del oeste de la isla.

Abstract: After a long time of planning, projections, and dreaming, MuSA, the Museum of Art of the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez Campus, opened it doors. The opening exhibition proposes an extensive tour through the most important works of those artists who have created their art while being teachers in the Western campus.

Resumen: Tras una necesaria reforma del edificio original y un dramático parón en el proyecto durante más de cuatro años, el Museo de Arte del Recinto de Mayagüez de la Universidad de Puerto Rico abrirá próximamente sus puertas al público. Su directora, Zorali de Feria, revela algunas claves sobre lo que significará este museo en el oeste puertorriqueño y comenta la expectación que su apertura está despertando.

Abstract: After a necessary renovation of the original building and a dramatic project break for more than four years, the Museum of Art at the University of Puerto Rico’s Mayagüez Campus will soon open its doors to the public. Its director, Zorali de Feria, reveals different clues about what the museum will mean for Puerto Rico’s West Region, and makes comments on the expectation this opening is awakening.

Resumen: El Museo de San Juan exhibe una retrospectiva del artista Marcos Irizarry, la cual incluye medios como el grabado y la pintura. Las vivencias, las experiencias y las fuentes internacionales que marcan su biografía y su producción contrastan con el arraigo nacional al que algunas historiografías vinculan su obra.

Abstract: The Museo de San Juan is exhibiting a retrospective of Marcos Irizarry, which includes media such as printmaking and painting. The experiences and international sources that mark his biography and his production contrast the national roots to which some historiographies link his work.
