Las visiones de Gustave Doré

Resumen: Tres enormes lienzos, dos grabados y una Biblia ilustrada componen la exhibición Fervor y fantasía: la Pasión según Gustave Doré, artista y grabador francés, figura clave de la ilustración decimonónica. El Museo de Arte de Ponce presenta esta exhibición con piezas de sus fondos, envueltas en un ambiente inspirado en la estética gótica y oscura del artista protagonista.

Abstract: Three large canvases, two prints and an illustrated Bible make up the exhibition Fervor y fantasía: la Pasión según Gustave Doré [Fervor and Fantasy: Passion According to Gustave Doré], a French artist, printer, and key figure in 19th century illustration. The exhibition, showing artworks from the Museo de Arte de Ponce collection, is set in an atmosphere inspired by the dark and gothic aesthetics used by the artist.

El centenario de Jack Delano

Resumen: El centenario del nacimiento del artista Jack Delano se celebra en una exposición retrospectiva en el Museo de Arte de Ponce, la cual incluye una amplia diversidad de medios practicados por el artista y por su esposa a lo largo de las décadas en las que vivieron en Puerto Rico.

Abstract: The centenary of artist Jack Delano´s birth is celebrated in a retrospective exhibition at the Museo de Arte de Ponce, including a wide variety of art practiced by the artist and his wife throughout the decades in which they lived in Puerto Rico.

Colectivo Marvelous: homenaje a los cómics

Resumen: La Galería Mondo Bizarro: Arte y Cómics, operada por Luis C. Parés y Yasmine Stella Léede (Pernicious Press) inauguró el 24 de mayo la muestra Colectivo Marvelous, que sirve de homenaje a la influencia de los comics de la compañía Marvel, en la producción artística y memoria colectiva de los artistas contemporáneos.

Abstract: Mondo Bizarro Gallery: Art and Comics, directed by Luis C. Parés and Yasmine Stella Léede (Pernicious Press) opened the exhibition Marvelous Collective (Colectivo Marvelous) on May 24th 2013, paying homage to the influence of Marvel comics on the artistic production and collective memory of contemporary artists.
