Resumen: Elizabeth Robles entrevista a la ceramista Heidi Anne Vera, con la que comparte el entusiasmo por el barro como material de producción artística. Con ella repasa los inicios de su carrera, su dilatada experiencia artística y la filosofía alrededor de muchas de sus creaciones. En ella destaca el concepto del “aquí y ahora” en el ritual del uso que confiere a gran parte de sus obras.

Abstract: Elizabeth Robles interviews ceramic artist Heidi Anne Vera, sharing their passion for clay as a material for making art. Both artists review the beginnings of Vera’s career, her extensive experience, and the philosophy of her artworks. The concept of “here and now” is highlighted here, as part of the ritual use of many of her pieces.

Del sonido del barro: una entrevista a Gadiel Rivera

Resumen: Gadiel Rivera, artista, maestro del torno y de las técnicas de cerámica a mano, conversa sobre algunos procesos y conceptos en su trabajo. Tras recibir la beca de la Liga de Arte de San Juan a sus dieciséis años, estudió con Carmelo Fontánez, y con la artista y antropóloga Gloria Duncan. Se inicia entonces en la cerámica con Sylvia Blanco, en la Universidad Interamericana, a la par que continuaba sus estudios de bachillerato en la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de San Juan. Esta entrevista ofrece un perfil de su formación artística, delineando la actividad vibrante de pensarse como creador plástico.

Abstract: Gadiel Rivera, artist and a master of pottery and ceramic techniques at hand, talks about some processes and concepts in his work. After being recipient of the Art League of San Juan grant at sixteen, he studied with Carmelo Fontánez, and with the artist and anthropologist Gloria Duncan. He then began working in ceramics with Sylvia Blanco, at the Interamerican University, while continuing undergraduate studies at the School of Plastic Arts in San Juan. This interview offers a profile of his artistic training, outlining the vibrant activity of thinking as a plastic creator.
