Resumen: Una mirada rápida en internet permite comprobar la creciente y preocupante plaga de objetos falsificados que son tomados y exhibidos como piezas precolombinas originales. Museos, fundaciones e instituciones culturales poseen en su acervo algunas obras que han levantado las sospechas sobre su originalidad. La importancia de consultar a los expertos en la materia y exigir un certificado que atestigua la autenticidad a la hora de adquirir piezas de este importante período del arte americano es decisiva.
Abstract: A quick look on the internet allows us to confirm the growing and worrying plague of fakeobjects that are taken and exhibited as original pre-Columbian pieces. Museums, foundations and cultural institutions have in their collection some works that have raised suspicions about their originality. The importance of consulting experts in the field and demanding a certificate of authenticity when acquiring pieces from this important period of American art is decisive.
