Abstract: The Museo Nacional del Virreinato is one of the most relevant institutions within the Mexican museums scene. Located in the former Jesuit College of San Francisco Javier, in Tepotzotlán, the museum houses a suggestive collection of viceregal art, essential in understanding both the development of New Spanish art and its links with other settlements of the Spanish empire overseas.
