En la actualidad, buena parte de esos dise\u00f1os son utilizados por artesanos y artistas locales como atractivas \u201cornamentaciones decorativas\u201d o \u201cmotivos abstractos\u201d que, pese a una mirada superficial, gozan del favor del p\u00fablico. En cambio, en origen debieron constituir un verdadero referente material para los pueblos del Caribe prehisp\u00e1nico y este legado debe celebrarse en nuestros d\u00edas como una conmemoraci\u00f3n de su cultura.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 120%;\"><b>Abstract<\/b>: The aborigines of Puerto Rico traced lines in many of their works with a solid symbolic component. Today, a good part of those designs are used by local artisans and artists as attractive \u201cdecorative ornamentation\u201d or \u201cabstract motifs\u201d that, despite that superficial look, enjoy public favor.
