Resumen:<\/strong> Miguel Luciano es un ejemplo elocuente del proceso de desplazamiento constante que ha caracterizado a parte de la sociedad puertorrique\u00f1a desde los a\u00f1os cuarenta. Con una conciencia altamente social y pol\u00edtica, Luciano emplea, mediante el humor, una elegante est\u00e9tica callejera y popular, generando un comentario sagaz que reconstruye y establece cr\u00edticamente nuevas categor\u00edas, significados y alegor\u00edas que ayudan a redefinir el paradigma de la puertorrique\u00f1idad y de los latinos en los Estados Unidos. El an\u00e1lisis de una selecci\u00f3n de sus obras realizadas entre 2006 y 2012 revela c\u00f3mo el artista ha utilizado el arte como medio para empoderar a las comunidades marginadas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Abstract:<\/strong> Miguel Luciano is an eloquent example of the process of constant displacement to which Puerto Rican society has been subjected since the 1940s. With a highly social and political consciousness, Luciano attempts, through humor, an elegant street\/popular aesthetic, generating a sagacious commentary that reconstructs and critically establishes new categories, meanings and allegories that help redefine the paradigm of Puerto Ricannes and the Latinos in the United States. The analysis of a selection of his works from 2006 to 2012 reveal how the artist has used art as a means to empower marginalized communities.<\/span><\/p>\n
