Resumen:<\/strong> El libro Puerto Ricans Underwater<\/em> de Ad\u00e1l Maldonado, publicado a finales del pasado a\u00f1o con dise\u00f1o de Bold Destrou, recopila la serie de fotograf\u00edas que el artista ha realizado desde 2016. En ella, ha retratado de manera individual a un conjunto de personajes, amigos y tambi\u00e9n desconocidos, sumergido en la ba\u00f1era de su domicilio santurcino. Si bien Ad\u00e1l persigue explorar tanto la condici\u00f3n colonial de Puerto Rico como su dif\u00edcil coyuntura socio-econ\u00f3mica, resulta inevitable vincular estas im\u00e1genes con la situaci\u00f3n que atraviesa la isla tras el paso de los huracanes Irma y Mar\u00eda en septiembre de 2017. Abstract:<\/strong> The book Puerto Ricans Underwater<\/em>, by Ad\u00e1l Maldonado, published late last year, with a design by Bold Destrou, brings together a series of photographs which the artist has been taking since 2016, and which have appeared intermittently on social media. In this project, Ad\u00e1l has portrayed a collection of characters\u2014friends as well as strangers\u2014immersed in the bathtub of his Santurce home. Although Ad\u00e1l initially sought to explore both the colonial condition of Puerto Rico and its difficult socio-economic situation, it is inevitable to link these images with the island\u2019s current circumstances given the devastation brought by hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n
