About: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. He has published work in a wide array of topics, including Disability Studies, AIDS\/HIV literature and film, comedy, documentary film, immigration, identity, and heavy metal music in publications such as The Journal of Fandom Studies, The Massachusetts Review, Trespassing Journal, Sargasso, and Metal Music Studies<\/em>. He has coedited the books \u201cHeavy Metal in Argentina: In Black We Are Seen\u201d (2020) and \u201cHeavy Metal in Latin America: Perspectives from the Distorted South\u201d (2021) with Dr. Nelson Varas-D\u00edaz. He has also coedited various Special Issues for the Metal Music Studies<\/em> journal, published by Intellect Books. He has three forthcoming books: Defiant Sounds: Heavy Metal in the Global South (Lexington Books, 2023); The Bad Bunny Enigma: Culture, Resistance, and Uncertainty (Lexington Books, 2024); and Seeing Metal Music in Latin America and the Caribbean (Lexington Books, 2025).  In addition to his academic work, he has also worked as a translator. In his free time, he enjoys Brazilian jiu jitsu, long distance running, hiking, cooking, and the unpredictable adventures of entertaining his daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
