He received a B.S.S.E. in Spanish from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico (Pontificia&nbsp;Universidad&nbsp;Cat\u00f3lica de Puerto Rico) in Ponce. His teaching career began in Dr. Alfredo M.&nbsp;Aguayo&nbsp;High School in Ponce, teaching conversational English courses. In 1992, he obtained an M.A. degree in Spanish linguistics (Programa Graduado de Ling\u00fc\u00edstica) from the University of Puerto Rico, R\u00edo Piedras&nbsp;Campus. In 2006, he received his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Hispanic Studies Graduate Program of the University of Puerto Rico. Professor Dupey is currently the ESL Coordinator and the Undergraduate Academic Advisor in the Department of English.
