English Majors Association

EMA LOGOThe EMA is an association of undergraduate and graduate English majors from the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras. Its mission is to promote the English language and its literature, stimulate social interaction among majors, do outreach to majors in English education and high school students, and sponsor activities such as poetry slams, book swaps, film nights and other events. During the UPR annual Open House, the EMA also helps orient high school students who are interested in pursuing an English major  The EMA is dedicated to helping all English majors (from Humanities and Education) with their concerns and needs while serving as a bridge between the students and their department.
