Brief Biography
Michael Sharp was educated at universities in Britain and the United States. His Ph.D is from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has taught in Scotland, Greece, Portugal, and Nigeria, as well as at Binghamton, Harvard, and Wisconsin. Professor Sharp has been a Teaching Fellow at the International School of Theory in the Humanities at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Trained as a Romanticist and in the literature and ideas of the Nineteenth Century, he teaches in both the MA and Caribbean Ph.D programs. His research and publications now focus on the poetry of both Anglophone Africa and the Caribbean diaspora. His own poetry has been published on both sides of the Atlantic.
